The Starkeys

Jerry Starkey
I'm Jerry Starkey, owner and operator of Starkey Outdoors. As a lifelong resident of Oklahoma I have spent my entire life pursuing fish & game in the great state of Oklahoma. Hunting and fishing is just who I am. I try to be as honest and dependable as they come. That's why I proudly placed my family name on my business.
After the service I went to work for American Airlines as an A&P Mechanic in Tulsa,Okla. I spent 20 years turning wrenches for them. The pay and stability was nice but it just wasn't my passion. My passion was the outdoors. In 2013 I took the bold move and left American to become a full time outdoor guide. A move I have never regretted. I'm so blessed to be able to share my passion and experiences with my friends, family, and the general public.
When you go on a trip with me, please be prepared to talk a lot, joke around some, and have a fun time. Sure, we will catch fish but guiding is more about entertainment. Be prepared to be entertained.

In 2004, while still working at American Airlines I was doing research on "How to become a guide". I looked at all the Western Guide Schools and really wasn't into horses and paying someone to learn how to tie knots. Just wasn't my thing. So I kept pecking around on the internet and actually found an outfitter in Alaska that would let me pay him $300 to pack for him with no pay. What a deal!! I flew up there on my own dime and actually had a great time on a bow hunt for a grizzly bear. I had already successfully hunted in Alaska twice before for moose and caribou, so all I needed was a guide or trooper to vouch for me and sign me off. Thats how I became an Alaskan Big Game Guide and I still am. I usually go up there Aug and Sept. The pictures below are just a small sampling of the adventures I've had. When we go fishing I will tell you all about them.

My family is my rock, I'm blessed with a beautiful understanding wife who strongly supports my endeavors. Anya, for whom the Sea Ark is named after, is a Nurse Practitioner in Tulsa. She is the driving force behind Starkey Outdoors. I have three sons. My youngest is Casey, then Tristan, and my oldest is Zachary. They love the outdoors as well. They participate every chance they get. I start them young. Zachary and his beautiful wife Katie just gave us our first grandson, Maverick Starkey.
My Mom and Dad play a huge role in my business. While we are on the water my mom is the one picking up my children from school and getting them fed. My dad is the one who taught me how to hunt and fish. Both my parents and my wife's parents live on our ranch above Lake Oologah.
I'm lucky enough to look at the lake all day long from our house. Best view in Rogers County.
Anya's is probably happy I got him so I'll quit showing her his trail cam pics.
Casey with some Livescope crappie. Video Game fishing.
Tristan with some awesome Goldeneye and BlueBill drakes.
Zachary with a fist full of Goldeneyes.
My Father and the Lund in his from yard.
My Mom would kill me if I put her picture on the internet.
One of many beautiful sunsets I've witnessed from my back yard.
Lake Oologah. My home lake.
Drone footage of the house. Im probably on the lake fishing.
